Privacy Policy

Branch Labs ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Debt Payoff Planner & Tracker mobile application (the "App"). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

• Credit card details you enter manually: card name, balance, APR, minimum payment, credit limit, and due date
• Payment records you log within the app
• Account information if you sign up for cloud sync: email address and display name
• Financial account data if you connect a bank via Plaid (see Section 4)

Information collected automatically:

• App usage and crash data via Apple's standard frameworks
• Subscription status via Apple StoreKit — we never see your payment details

2. How We Use Your Information

• To calculate your debt-free date, payoff strategy, and interest projections on your device
• To sync your data across devices when you enable cloud backup (stored in Firebase Firestore under your account)
• To generate AI payoff insights using anonymized debt summary data — no personally identifiable information is included
• To send payment reminders you have opted into
• To process and verify your Pro subscription via Apple

3. Data Storage

All card data is stored locally on your device by default. If you enable cloud sync, your data is stored in Google Firebase Firestore, encrypted in transit and at rest, accessible only under your authenticated account.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers or third-party marketing services.

4. Plaid (Bank Connection)

If you connect a bank account, the connection is handled by Plaid Technologies, Inc. We never see or store your banking username or password. We receive only read-only balance data, processed server-side to update your card balances.

5. Firebase & Google

We use Google Firebase for authentication and cloud storage. Data in Firebase is subject to Google's Privacy Policy. Firebase processes data in the United States.

6. AI Features

AI insights are generated by sending an anonymized summary of your debt (total balance, number of cards, APR ranges, strategy preference) to our backend, which calls the Anthropic API. No names, account numbers, or personally identifiable information are included.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Your Rights

• Access & correction: view and edit all your data directly within the app
• Deletion: tap Settings → Reset All Data to delete local data; email us to delete your cloud account
• Subscription: manage in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions

9. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
